Comparison review

The Xperia Z5 Premium is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, having a 79.8 score against 78.1. Xperia Z5 Premium is a newer and a bit thinner device than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, although it's heavier. Both phones in this review have Android OS, but Xperia Z5 Premium has a newer 5.1 version while Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has Android 4.4.2 version, so it gives some extra features.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a better display than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has a lot higher pixels density, a quite bigger screen and a way higher 3840 x 2160 resolution. Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus's processor is just as good as the Xperia Z5 Premium one, because although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has 4 lesser cores and 1 GB less RAM, it also counts with a much better GPU working at 500 MHz.

The Xperia Z5 Premium features much more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 200 GB and more internal memory. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has longer battery duration than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 3430mAh of battery capacity.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium takes a little bit better videos and photos than Galaxy S5 Plus, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also has a bigger aperture to take better low-light photography, a back-facing camera with much more megapixels and a bigger sensor.

Although Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S5 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S5 Plus. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, else you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy S5 Plus, letting go some specifications.
