The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a score of 79.8, which is a bit better than Galaxy S7 edge's 78.1 global score. Despite being the best in this comparison review, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium's design is a little bit thicker and somewhat heavier than the Galaxy S7 edge. Both of these devices have Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has the previous 5.1 version and Galaxy S7 edge has Android 8.0 Oreo version.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit and a greater number of cores (but slower). The Xperia Z5 Premium has a much sharper screen than Galaxy S7 edge, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a higher number of pixels per inch of screen and a much higher 3840 x 2160px resolution.
Galaxy S7 edge's memory for applications, games, photos and videos is very similar to Sony Xperia Z5 Premium's one, they have equal 32 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 200 GB. Xperia Z5 Premium has a slightly better camera than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not so good for capturing images and videos in low-light environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a larger camera sensor and a back camera with much more mega pixels.
The Galaxy S7 edge counts with a little longer battery life than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has 3600mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy S7 edge. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Xperia Z5 Premium, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Galaxy S7 edge, giving up a couple features and specifications.
