Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is slightly better than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, with a global score of 79.8 against 78.6. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is an older phone than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, but Sony was able to make it lighter and somewhat thinner anyway. Both phones in this review use Android operating system, but Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has older 5.1 version while Sony Xperia XA2 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a bit more powerful processing unit than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a graphics co-processor. Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a way better looking screen than Xperia XA2 Plus, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way better display pixel density and a way higher resolution of 3840 x 2160.
The Xperia XA2 Plus has a superior memory capacity for games and applications than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 400 GB and 64 GB internal memory capacity. Sony Xperia XA2 Plus counts with a little longer battery life than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a 3580mAh battery size against 3430mAh.
Xperia Z5 Premium shoots clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a same size camera sensor, a camera in the back with a 23 mega-pixels resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a bigger diafragm aperture to take better photos and video in poorly lited environments.
