Xperia Z5 Premium has a general score of 79.8, which is just a bit better than the Xperia Z4v's score of 78.8. Xperia Z5 Premium's body is somewhat heavier but just a little bit thinner than the Xperia Z4v, and both were released with only 3 months difference. These phones come with the same Android 5.1 OS (Operating System), so both should provide you all the same OS features.
The Xperia Z5 Premium features a little more vivid display than Sony Xperia Z4v, because it has a higher display pixel density, a much higher resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a little bit bigger screen. Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a slightly bigger storage for applications and games than Sony Xperia Z4v, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal memory, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 200 GB.
Sony Xperia Z4v features a bit better processing power than Xperia Z5 Premium, and although they both have 8 cores and a 3 GB RAM memory, the Sony Xperia Z4v also has a better graphics co-processor working at 600 megahertz. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features just a bit longer battery duration than Sony Xperia Z4v, because it has a 14% more battery capacity.
The Xperia Z5 Premium shoots slightly better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z4v, and although they both have the same back-facing camera sensor size, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a back camera with more megapixels and a larger diafragm aperture to take better images in poorly lited environments.
Although Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia Z4v, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xperia Z4v. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, else you can save some dollars and get the Xperia Z4v, letting go some features and specs.
