Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a little bit better than Sony Xperia Z5, having a 78.7 score against 77.6. Both of these phones come with Android OS, but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version and Sony Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's body is newer than Sony Xperia Z5's, but it is a bit thicker and just a bit heavier.
Xperia Z5 features a bit better looking display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a lot lower resolution of 1920 x 1080px, a quite smaller screen and a just a little lower pixel number per display inch. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features more storage for games and applications than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage.
The Xperia Z5 and the Huawei Mate 9 Pro have quite similar processors, because although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, and they both have the same number of cores, it also counts with more RAM. The Xperia Z5 captures better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 also has a larger aperture for better photography and video in poorly lited environments, a much larger camera sensor and a much better 23 MP resolution back facing camera.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a way better battery performance than Xperia Z5, because it has a 38% bigger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia Z5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get the Sony Xperia Z5, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most with your money.
