The Microsoft Surface Duo is slightly better than the Xperia Z5, getting a 78.8 score against 77.6. These devices use Android OS (Operating System), but Microsoft Surface Duo has a more recent 10 version while Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1 version, so it gives you some nice extra features. The Microsoft Surface Duo construction is a lot newer and incredibly thinner, but also extremely heavier than Xperia Z5.

The Xperia Z5 features a much better looking screen than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has a way worse resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a way smaller display, it also counts with a little better amount of pixels in each inch of screen. The Microsoft Surface Duo counts with a better storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia Z5, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.

The Microsoft Surface Duo features a little faster processor than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, and they both have 8 CPU cores, the Microsoft Surface Duo also counts with 3 GB more RAM memory. The Microsoft Surface Duo features superior battery duration than Xperia Z5, because it has a 23% greater battery capacity.

Sony Xperia Z5 shoots better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has worse video frame rate, and they both have the same video resolution, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a lot higher resolution camera in the back and a larger aperture to take better images and videos in low light environments.

Although Microsoft Surface Duo is a better device, it costs more money than the Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xperia Z5. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Microsoft Surface Duo, else you can save some dollars and buy the Xperia Z5, letting go a couple features and specs.
