Comparison review

The Xperia Z5 has an overall score of 77.6, which is just a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's 77.4 score. Even being the best in this review, the Xperia Z5 is an older, just a little heavier and somewhat thicker cellphone than the Moto Z2 Play. Sony Xperia Z5 has a bit more powerful CPU than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with an additional GPU.

The Xperia Z5 counts with a sharper screen than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a just a bit higher amount of pixels per inch in the screen. Xperia Z5 shoots better photographs and videos than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a lot more mega-pixels back camera.

Moto Z2 Play features a very superior memory for games and applications than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB and 64 GB internal storage capacity. Moto Z2 Play has a bit longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a 3000mAh battery size instead of 2900mAh.

Although Xperia Z5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Moto Z2 Play. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia Z5, otherwise you can save some money and get the Moto Z2 Play, giving up a couple specs and features.
