The Galaxy M40 has a score of 85, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z5's 77.6 overall score. Both of these phones work with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy M40 has 10 version and Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1, so it gives you some extra features and performance optimizations. The Galaxy M40 body is newer, but a little thicker and a little heavier than Xperia Z5.
Sony Xperia Z5 has a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a just a little better pixel amount in each inch of screen.
