Galaxy M51 has a score of 87.7, which is better than the Xperia Z5's global score of 77.6. Both phones in this review include Android operating system, but Galaxy M51 has newer 10 version and Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1 version, providing you some additional features and performance improvements. The Galaxy M51 body is notably newer than Xperia Z5's, but it's much heavier and much thicker.

Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy M51, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a graphics co-processor.
