The Galaxy Note Fan Edition has a score of 80.4, which is a bit better than Xperia Z5's 77.6 score. Galaxy Note Fan Edition's body is newer than Xperia Z5's, but it's a little thicker and a bit heavier. Xperia Z5 features a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, although it has a lot worse resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a little bit less pixels per inch of display and a quite smaller screen.

The Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a little bit better processing power than Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has lesser RAM, and they both have 8 cpu cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a graphics processing unit. Xperia Z5 counts with a superior camera than Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a tinier aperture which is worse for capturing photographs and videos in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a lot better 23 megapixels resolution back-facing camera and a bigger sensor shooting higher quality photos.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition counts with a way bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 256 GB and 32 GB more internal memory capacity. Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has a little longer battery life than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has 3200mAh of battery capacity instead of 2900mAh.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Sony Xperia Z5. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Sony Xperia Z5, giving up a couple features and specs.
