Comparison review
Sony Xperia Z5 is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, having a score of 77.6 against 75.8. Despite of the fact that Sony Xperia Z5 is older than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, it's construction is much thinner and somewhat lighter. Samsung Galaxy S7 Active features a bit more vivid display than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixel number per inch of screen and a better 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution.
The Sony Xperia Z5 has a bit better CPU than Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has less RAM, it also counts with an additional graphics processor and a larger number of cores. Galaxy S7 Active has as much memory capacity for apps and games as the Sony Xperia Z5, they have a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 200 GB and equal 32 GB internal storage.
Xperia Z5 shoots better pictures and videos than Galaxy S7 Active, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a lot more MP camera in the back. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has a much longer battery life than Xperia Z5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 2900mAh.
Although Sony Xperia Z5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S7 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S7 Active. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia Z5, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy S7 Active, resigning some specifications.
