Comparison review
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a global score of 85.6, which is much better than Xperia Z5's 77.6 global score. Both phones in this comparison review have Android operating system, but the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has newer 11 version while Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1, so it counts with some extra features. Even though the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is somewhat heavier than Xperia Z5, it's just a little thinner and way newer.
The Xperia Z5 has a slightly better looking screen than Galaxy Z Flip 3, although it has a bit worse amount of pixels per inch in the display, a way smaller display and a little bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080. Galaxy Z Flip 3 features a bit better processor than Xperia Z5, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, and they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 also counts with a larger amount of RAM memory.
Sony Xperia Z5 captures much better photographs and videos than Galaxy Z Flip 3, and although they both have a F1.8 diafragm aperture, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a much better resolution back camera. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 counts with a better storage capacity for games and applications than Xperia Z5, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory capacity.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 features just a bit longer battery performance than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a 3300mAh battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xperia Z5. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the Xperia Z5, letting go some specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
