Although the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is older than the T-Mobile Sidekick, it's construction is thinner and noticeably lighter. BlackBerry Pearl 8100 works with BlackBerry operating system, while T-Mobile Sidekick comes with Danger 4.7 operating system.
