Comparison review
The Asus ROG Phone 8 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro, getting a 79.5 score against 78.7. Both devices in our current comparison include Android OS (operating system), but Asus ROG Phone 8 has 14 version and Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro has Android 12 version. Asus ROG Phone 8's body is newer and just a little thinner than Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro's, but it's a little heavier.
Asus ROG Phone 8 features a way better display than Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro, because although it has a quite worse pixels quantity in each inch in the screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, the Asus ROG Phone 8 also counts with a bit bigger display. Asus ROG Phone 8 features as much storage for applications, games, photos and videos as the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro one, they have exactly the same internal storage.
Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro and Asus ROG Phone 8 count with quite similar CPUs, and although the Asus ROG Phone 8 has 4 GB more RAM, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. The Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with greater battery life than Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro, because it has a 5500mAh battery size against 4650mAh.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro captures just a bit better photographs and videos than Asus ROG Phone 8, because although it has a way smaller back camera sensor providing a lot lower image quality, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 Pro also counts with a much more megapixels camera, a bigger aperture and higher 60 frames per second video frame rate.
