Comparison review
The Xiaomi Black Shark has a score of 80.4, which is just a bit better than Motorola Edge 40's 77.2 overall score. Although it's the best phone we compare here, we must highlight that it's also a notably older, somewhat heavier and somewhat thicker phone. These devices work with Android OS, but the Xiaomi Black Shark has newer 9.0 Pie version while Motorola Edge 40 has Android 13 version, providing the user a couple additional features.
The Xiaomi Black Shark has a very superior processing power than Motorola Edge 40. Both have a 8 GB RAM and the same number of cores. The Motorola Edge 40 has a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Black Shark, because it has a much brighter screen, a slightly better 1080 x 2400 resolution, a quite bigger screen and a just a little more pixels per inch of display.
The Motorola Edge 40 and Xiaomi Black Shark have quite similar memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos, both of them have equal internal storage capacity. The Motorola Edge 40 has a way better camera than Xiaomi Black Shark, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Motorola Edge 40 also has a way larger aperture to take better images and videos in low light environments, a way more MP back-facing camera and a much bigger sensor which offers a way better photo and video quality.
Motorola Edge 40 counts with a little longer battery performance than Xiaomi Black Shark, because it has a 4400mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
