The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a general score of 79, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi Mi 8 SE's score of 75.9. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S body is newer than the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE's, but it is noticeably heavier and somewhat thicker. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S comes with Android 11 OS, while Xiaomi Mi 8 SE has Android OS.
Xiaomi Mi 8 SE features a little sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a bit smaller screen and a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2244, it also counts with a little greater number of pixels per screen inch. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S captures better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has a back camera with a lot higher resolution, a larger aperture to capture better low-light photos and video and a way bigger back-facing camera sensor which provides a lot higher photo and video quality.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S counts with a very superior battery life than Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, because it has a 61 percent larger battery capacity.
