The Xiaomi Mi 8 has an overall score of 83.3, which is a little bit better than Huawei P40 Lite's score of 79.5. Xiaomi Mi 8's design is just a little lighter and thinner than Huawei P40 Lite, even though it was released only 21 months before. These phones include the same Android 10 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding that.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 counts with a little more vivid display than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a bit smaller display and a little worse 1080 x 2248 resolution, it also counts with a little higher pixels count per inch of display.
