The Galaxy M40 is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi 8, with a overall score of 85 against 83.3. Although the Galaxy M40 is just a bit thicker than the Xiaomi Mi 8, it's a little lighter and also newer. Both phones in our current comparison work with the same Android 10 OS. Xiaomi Mi 8 has just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy M40. Both of them have a 6 GB RAM and the same number of cores.
Xiaomi Mi 8 features a little more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy M40, although it has a little bit worse screen pixel density, a bit smaller display and a bit worse 1080 x 2248 resolution. Samsung Galaxy M40 counts with slightly more memory capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a SD memory slot that admits up to 512 GB.
Samsung Galaxy M40 has a little better battery performance than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity against 3400mAh. The Galaxy M40 shoots a bit better videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has a smaller sensor taking worse quality videos and images, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Galaxy M40 also counts with a lot better 32 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera and a larger aperture to take better images and video in low light situations.
