These phones have Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Mi 8 has a more recent 10 version and Galaxy Note 5 has Android 5.1, so it gives you a couple nice extra features. The Xiaomi Mi 8 construction has the same thickness than Galaxy Note 5, but it is just a little bit heavier.
