Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi 8 is slightly better than the Galaxy S8, with an 83.3 score against 81.7. The Xiaomi Mi 8 construction is newer and just a little bit thinner, but also heavier than the Galaxy S8. Samsung Galaxy S8 features a bit sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with more pixels per screen inch and a higher 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has a much better memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy S8, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory capacity. Xiaomi Mi 8 features a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy S8, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has more RAM.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit better battery duration than Galaxy S8, because it has a 13 percent more battery size. The Xiaomi Mi 8 takes a little bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy S8, although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for shooting photos or videos in low-light situations, they both have the same (4K) video definition, the same resolution back-facing camera, the same video frame rates and the same camera sensor size.
