The Xiaomi Mi 8 is slightly better than the Sony Xperia 1 VI, getting a score of 83.3 against 83.2. Both phones in this comparison review come with Android OS, but the Xiaomi Mi 8 has the previous 10 version and Sony Xperia 1 VI has Android 14 version. Xiaomi Mi 8 has a much more powerful CPU than Sony Xperia 1 VI, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
Xiaomi Mi 8 features a little bit better looking screen than Xperia 1 VI, although it has a lot lower count of pixels per inch of display, a little bit smaller screen and a much lower 1080 x 2248 resolution. Sony Xperia 1 VI has a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 8, and although they both have the same 256 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia 1 VI also has a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 1 TB.
The Xperia 1 VI takes much better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for low light images, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia 1 VI also counts with a much larger back camera sensor capturing way better quality videos and pictures, better video frame rates and a lot higher 48 megapixels resolution back camera.
Xperia 1 VI counts with a way better battery life than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has a 47 percent greater battery capacity.
