Comparison review
Xperia 5 III is a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 8, having a 90.5 score against 83.3. The Xperia 5 III is a a lot newer and a little lighter phone than the Xiaomi Mi 8, although it's a bit thicker. These phones use Android operating system, but the Xperia 5 III has the newer 11 version and Xiaomi Mi 8 has Android 10 version, so it provides a couple nice extra features and some performance improvements.
The Sony Xperia 5 III's CPU is very similar to Xiaomi Mi 8's CPU, and although the Sony Xperia 5 III has more RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit sharper screen than Sony Xperia 5 III, because although it has a bit inferior count of pixels per inch of screen and a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2248px, it also counts with a little larger display.
The Xperia 5 III takes clearer pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi 8, and although they both have the same video resolution and the same resolution back-facing camera, the Xperia 5 III also has better video frame rates, a way bigger sensor taking much higher quality videos and pictures and a larger camera aperture for better captures and video in low light situations.
The Sony Xperia 5 III has a much better memory for apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 8, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Sony Xperia 5 III also has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 1 TB. The Sony Xperia 5 III counts with improved battery performance than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has a 32% larger battery size.
