Xiaomi Mi 8 has an overall score of 83.3, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Black Shark's 80.4 general score. Both phones in this comparison review use Android OS (operating system), but Xiaomi Mi 8 has the older 10 version and Xiaomi Black Shark has Android 9.0 Pie. Xiaomi Mi 8 is a a little lighter and thinner cellphone than the Xiaomi Black Shark, even though they were released with only a few months difference.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 counts with a slightly better screen than Xiaomi Black Shark, and although they both have a greater pixels count in each inch in the display, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels, a quite larger screen and a little brighter display. Xiaomi Black Shark has a processing unit that's very similar to the Xiaomi Mi 8 one, and although the Xiaomi Black Shark has 2 GB more RAM, they both have a Octa-Core CPU.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 features much more memory capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Black Shark, because it has 256 GB internal memory. Xiaomi Mi 8 shoots slightly better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Black Shark, and although they both have a same resolution camera in the back, the same 30 fps video frame rates, the same (4K) video resolution and a same size diafragm aperture, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has a larger sensor shooting better quality videos and pictures.
Xiaomi Black Shark counts with improved battery life than Xiaomi Mi 8, because it has an 18 percent bigger battery size.
