The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a global score of 85, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi 9's overall score of 83.2. Even though Samsung Galaxy M40 and the Xiaomi Mi 9 were released only a few months apart, Samsung Galaxy M40's body is just a little bit thicker but also a little lighter. The Xiaomi Mi 9 has a little sharper display than Galaxy M40, because although it has a bit lower quantity of pixels per inch of display, and they both have the same 1080 x 2340px resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also counts with a little bit bigger display.
The Galaxy M40 counts with a lot bigger memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 9, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Galaxy M40 also has a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 512 GB. The Xiaomi Mi 9 has a little better hardware performance than Galaxy M40. They have a Octa-Core CPU and 6 GB of RAM.
Galaxy M40 counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi 9, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 9 takes much clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low light captures and video, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also counts with a much larger back-facing camera sensor which gives a way higher image and video quality, better 60 frames per second video frame rate and a lot more MP camera in the back.
