Samsung Galaxy M40 has an overall score of 85, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro's 82.7 score. Both devices in this comparison review include the same Android 10 OS (Operating System). Samsung Galaxy M40 is a somewhat thinner and lighter device than Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, although both were only released with a couple of months difference.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a just a little lower screen density, and they both have exactly the same 1080 x 2340 resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro also counts with a little larger display. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy M40. Both have 6 GB of RAM memory and 8 cores.

The Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro shoots better pictures and videos than Galaxy M40, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro also counts with a much larger back camera sensor which offers a lot higher image and video quality, a lot higher resolution back-facing camera and higher 60 fps video frame rates.

Galaxy M40 features a very superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Galaxy M40 also has a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro features a bit longer battery performance than Galaxy M40, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3500mAh.
