OnePlus 8 UW is a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi A1, with a global score of 75.9 against 75. Although the OnePlus 8 UW is much newer than the Xiaomi Mi A1, it's a bit heavier and a little thicker. Both phones in this review use Android operating system, but the OnePlus 8 UW has older 10 version while Xiaomi Mi A1 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
The OnePlus 8 UW has a little sharper display than Xiaomi Mi A1, because it has a larger display, a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2400, a just a bit higher number of pixels in each inch in the display and way more brightness. Xiaomi Mi A1 has just a bit more memory capacity to install games and applications than OnePlus 8 UW, because although it has just 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 256 GB.
The OnePlus 8 UW features a little bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi A1, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the OnePlus 8 UW also has 4 GB more RAM. The OnePlus 8 UW shoots way better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi A1, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 UW also has a bigger diafragm aperture for better images in low light environments, a way higher resolution back facing camera and better video frame rate.
OnePlus 8 UW features a very superior battery performance than Xiaomi Mi A1, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity.
