Huawei Mate 20 is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, getting a overall score of 79.5 against 77.5. The Huawei Mate 20 is a newer and somewhat lighter device than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, but it is also just a bit thicker. Huawei Mate 20 features a sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because it has a little bit bigger display, a bit greater display density and a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2244.
Huawei Mate 20 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. They have a Octa-Core processor and a 4 GB RAM. Huawei Mate 20 shoots clearer pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a same resolution back-facing camera and the same video frame rate, the Huawei Mate 20 also has a bigger camera aperture and a lot bigger sensor shooting much higher quality pictures and videos.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a very superior memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has an external memory card slot that admits up to 128 GB. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features longer battery duration than Huawei Mate 20, because it has a 33% bigger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Huawei Mate 20, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, resigning some features and specifications.
