Comparison review

Galaxy Note 5 has a general score of 79.3, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2's 77.5 overall score. The Galaxy Note 5 construction has the same thickness than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, but it's lighter. Galaxy Note 5 features a way better looking display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a greater display pixels density and a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have the same RAM amount, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has a higher number of cores (although slower). Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a way bigger storage for games and applications than Galaxy Note 5, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 128 GB and 64 GB more internal storage.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a way better battery life than Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 5300mAh battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features a bit better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same video definition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 also has a lot higher resolution back camera, a larger camera sensor which offers a better photo and video quality and a bigger aperture to take better images and videos in low-light situations.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get Xiaomi Mi Max 2, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
