Comparison review
The Xperia 1 is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, getting an 82.6 score against 77.5. Although the Xperia 1 is a little bit thicker than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, it's lighter and newer. The Sony Xperia 1 has a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a higher amount of RAM.
Sony Xperia 1 has a much sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because it has much more pixels per inch of screen, a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution and a bit bigger display. The Xperia 1 captures a little bit better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has worse 24 frames per second video frame rates, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same resolution back camera, the Xperia 1 also counts with a way larger aperture and a bigger camera sensor.
The Xperia 1 counts with more memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Xperia 1 also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a really longer battery performance than Xperia 1, because it has a 59% greater battery capacity.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Xiaomi Mi Max 2, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
