Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is slightly better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, with a global score of 79 against 77.5. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact's body is newer and incredibly lighter, but also incredibly thicker than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has a much better display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a little bit higher 1080 x 2160 resolution and a better screen density.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with a bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact shoots much better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video quality, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact also has a larger aperture to take better low-light images and video, a back facing camera with a much better resolution, a way bigger camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and better 60 fps video frame rates.
