Comparison review
The Sony Xperia Z5 is slightly better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, with a 77.6 score against 77.5. The Sony Xperia Z5 construction is a little thinner and noticeably lighter than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, despite of the fact that it was released about 21 months before. Xperia Z5 counts with a little bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has 1 GB less RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xperia Z5 also counts with an extra graphics processor.
Xperia Z5 features a better display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a little bit better count of pixels in each inch in the display. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has much more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia Z5, because although it has an external memory slot that allows up to 128 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.
The Sony Xperia Z5 takes much better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a camera in the back with much more MP, a bigger aperture to take better photography and videos in low-light situations and a way bigger back camera sensor providing a lot better image quality.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a way better battery lifetime than Xperia Z5, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia Z5 is a better device, it costs more money than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
