Comparison review
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a score of 79.8, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2's general score of 77.5. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium's design is somewhat lighter than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, but it is a little thicker and was released just 21 months before. The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has less RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with an extra graphics co-processor.
Xperia Z5 Premium features a much sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a way better pixels number per display inch and a lot higher resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a superior camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also has a back camera with much more megapixels, a lot bigger camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a larger camera aperture for better images and videos in low light situations.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a superior storage capacity for games and applications than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a much longer battery duration than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a 5300mAh battery size against 3430mAh.
Although Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xperia Z5 Premium, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, letting go a couple specs and features.
