Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 is much better than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, having an 87 score against 74.9. Both devices in this review come with Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy A42 has older 11 version and Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has Android 8.1 Oreo. Even though Samsung Galaxy A42 is a bit thicker than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, it's lighter and also a lot newer.
The Galaxy A42 has a little better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Max 3. Both have a 4 GB RAM and a Octa-Core processing unit. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 counts with a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A42, because it has a much better resolution of 1080 x 2160px, a greater screen pixel density and a little bit bigger screen.
Galaxy A42 has a much better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A42 also has a way better resolution camera in the back and a bigger aperture to take better low-light photography and video. The Samsung Galaxy A42 has a way bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, because it has a SD card slot that holds up to 1000 GB and 64 GB more internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 counts with just a bit better battery life than Samsung Galaxy A42, because it has 5500mAh of battery capacity.
