Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has an overall score of 81.2, which is slightly better than the Sony Xperia Z5's 77.6 general score. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is a newer phone than the Sony Xperia Z5, but it is somewhat heavier and just a little thicker. Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, because although it has a little smaller display and a quite lower resolution of 1920 x 1080, it also counts with a quite greater pixels density.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 counts with a bit more powerful processor than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has doesn't have an extra GPU, and they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 also counts with more RAM. Xperia Z5 features a superior camera than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xperia Z5 also has a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor, a bigger aperture and a camera with much more MP.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a superior memory capacity for applications and games than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory capacity. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a bit better battery performance than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a 3400mAh battery capacity.
Although Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia Z5. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Xperia Z5, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your savings.
