Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, getting a global score of 83 against 76. Both of these phones come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Note8 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so it gives you some extra features. The Galaxy Note8 body is newer than Xiaomi Mi Note 2's, although it is somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier.
Galaxy Note8 has a much better screen than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because it has more pixels per inch in the display, a way higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 and a bit larger display. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has just a bit more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 256 GB.
Galaxy Note8 has a bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have 6 GB of RAM, the Galaxy Note8 also has 4 more cores. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 takes much clearer videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a much less MP back camera and a lower 3840x2160 video definition, it also counts with a larger aperture to take better low light photos and a larger back-facing camera sensor which gives a better image and video quality.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has a 4070mAh battery size.
