The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a score of 76, which is slightly better than Xiaomi Mi Note 3's 75.3 global score. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 design has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, but it's a bit heavier. These phones use Android operating system, but Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has the older 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xiaomi Mi Note 3 has Android 8.1 Oreo.
Xiaomi Mi Note 3 features a little sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1080 x 1920px, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 also counts with a just a bit greater count of pixels per inch in the display. Xiaomi Mi Note 3 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have a 6 GB RAM memory, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 also has 4 more cores.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2's storage for applications, games, photos and videos is very similar to Xiaomi Mi Note 3's one, both have equal internal memory capacity. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 shoots better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a worse 3840x2160 video quality and a way less MP resolution camera in the back, it also counts with a larger diafragm aperture to capture better photography and video in poorly lited environments.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features improved battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi Note 3, because it has a 4070mAh battery capacity against 3500mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it costs more than Xiaomi Mi Note 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Mi Note 3, giving up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
