Comparison review
The Galaxy Note8 is better than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, getting a overall score of 83 against 71.7. Galaxy Note8's body is newer and just a little thinner than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime's, but it is incredibly heavier. Both devices in our current comparison have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, so it offers some nice extra features and optimized performance.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has a just a bit more pixels per inch of display, a way better resolution of 1440 x 2960px and a bigger display. Samsung Galaxy Note8 features much more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has an external SD slot that allows up to 256 GB and 64 GB internal storage.
Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a little faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has longer battery performance than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 4100mAh battery capacity against 3300mAh.
The Galaxy Note8 has a much better camera than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because although it has a camera with a worse resolution, it also counts with a lot higher 3840x2160 video definition and a lot larger camera aperture to capture better low light photos and videos.
Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Galaxy Note8, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, giving up a couple features and specs.
