Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is a little bit better than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, having a general score of 77.7 against 71.7. Both devices in our current comparison come with Android operating system, but Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has 8.1 Oreo version while Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has Android 6.0 Marshmallow, providing a couple nice extra features and performance optimizations. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is a somewhat thinner but a little bit heavier cellphone than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite counts with a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite also has 3 GB more RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime features a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, because although it has a lot smaller display and a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, it also counts with a bit higher display density.
