The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is better than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, getting a score of 81.1 against 71.7. Both of these phones come with Android operating system, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has an older 10 version and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro body has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, but it's heavier.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro features a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also has more RAM memory. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime features a slightly better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1080 x 1920px and a really smaller display, it also counts with a little bit better screen pixels density.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with improved battery life than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has a 22% greater battery size.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
