The Huawei Mate 20 lite has a global score of 76.2, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's 75.8 general score. Although Huawei Mate 20 lite and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro were released only a couple of months apart, Huawei Mate 20 lite is just a bit lighter and a bit thinner. Both devices in this review include Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei Mate 20 lite has a more recent 8.1 Oreo version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version, so it provides a lot of extra features and performance tweaks.
The Huawei Mate 20 lite has a bit better processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, although it has less RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. The Huawei Mate 20 lite features just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a little bigger screen, a little higher display density and a bit higher 1080 x 2340 resolution.
The Huawei Mate 20 lite features a bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Huawei Mate 20 lite also has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features just a little better battery duration than Huawei Mate 20 lite, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3750mAh.
The Huawei Mate 20 lite captures a bit better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video definition, the Huawei Mate 20 lite also has a back facing camera with lot more megapixels, a bigger camera aperture and better video frame rate.
