Huawei nova 3 has a general score of 76.3, which is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's 75.8 overall score. Both phones in this review use Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei nova 3 has newer 8.1 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version, offering a couple additional features and performance improvements. Even though the Huawei nova 3 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro were released only a couple of months apart, the Huawei nova 3 is just a little lighter and just a bit thinner.
The Huawei nova 3 features a slightly better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a little bit bigger screen, a just a little higher count of pixels per inch in the display and a slightly higher 1080 x 2340 resolution. The Huawei nova 3 features much more memory for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has an external memory slot that allows up to 256 GB and 128 GB internal memory capacity.
The Huawei nova 3 features just a little better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Both of them have 6 GB of RAM memory and a Octa-Core processing unit. The Huawei nova 3 captures much clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a lot better 3840x2160 video resolution, a back facing camera with a lot higher resolution and a bigger aperture to take better low light images and videos.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro counts with a bit superior battery life than Huawei nova 3, because it has a 7 percent greater battery capacity.
