The Galaxy XCover 5 has a general score of 78.1, which is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's 75.8 overall score. Both devices in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy XCover 5 has the previous 11 version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo. The Galaxy XCover 5 body is a lot newer and a little lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's, but it is somewhat thicker.
Galaxy XCover 5 features a bit superior processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, although it has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro counts with just a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a greater pixel count per inch in the display, a little bigger display and a way higher resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 features a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same video definition, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 also has a bigger camera aperture for better photos and video in low-light situations and a camera in the back with a much better resolution.
The Galaxy XCover 5 has a way bigger memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has an external memory card slot that holds up to 1 TB. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has greater battery duration than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a 33 percent bigger battery capacity.
