Huawei Nova 9 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, having an 81 score against 74.4. Both devices in this review come with Android operating system, but Huawei Nova 9 has older 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat. Huawei Nova 9 is a much newer phone, and it's also a little bit thinner and just a bit lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
The Huawei Nova 9 features a bit more powerful processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Nova 9 also has a greater amount of RAM. Huawei Nova 9 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 count with incredibly similar displays, because although the Huawei Nova 9 has a just a bit worse pixel count per screen inch, it also counts with a bit bigger display and a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Huawei Nova 9 counts with a little bit more storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity. Huawei Nova 9 features a little longer battery lifetime than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because it has a 4300mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
The Huawei Nova 9 has a much better camera than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because it has a larger diafragm aperture for better photos and video in low-light environments, a way better 3840x2160 video definition and a back-facing camera with much more MP.
