Galaxy Note8 is better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, with an 83 score against 74.4. Even being the best phone in this comparison, it must be noted that it is also a bit thicker and just a bit heavier. Both of these phones come with Android operating system, but the Galaxy Note8 has newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat.
The Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because it has a bit bigger screen, a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and a higher display pixel density. Samsung Galaxy Note8 features just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
