Comparison review
The Xperia XZ2 Compact is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, having a 79 score against 74.4. These phones come with Android OS, but the Xperia XZ2 Compact has the newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat, giving you a couple nice extra features and performance enhancements. Although Xperia XZ2 Compact and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 were released with only a few months difference, the Xperia XZ2 Compact design is just a little bit lighter but a lot thicker than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have an equal resolution of 1080 x 2160px, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also counts with a quite better quantity of pixels in each inch in the screen. Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also has an external memory card slot that admits up to 400 GB.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Both have 8 cores and a 4 GB RAM memory. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact captures way better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because it has a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, a much more mega pixels back facing camera and a bigger diafragm aperture.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 counts with a much better battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 39% bigger battery capacity.
