The Xiaomi Black Shark is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, having an 80.4 score against 74.4. Despite being the best device in this review, the Xiaomi Black Shark is an a little heavier and thicker device than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Both devices we compare here use Android OS, but Xiaomi Black Shark has newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat.
The Xiaomi Black Shark counts with a little sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. They have a display with the same size, the same pixel density and an equal resolution of 1080 x 2160. The Xiaomi Black Shark has just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xiaomi Black Shark also has more RAM.
Xiaomi Black Shark has a slightly bigger storage to install games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Xiaomi Black Shark's battery lifetime is just as good as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's battery life.
Xiaomi Black Shark takes better videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have a back facing camera with a 12 MP, the Xiaomi Black Shark also has a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution and a bigger aperture to capture better low-light photography and videos.
