The Xiaomi Mi 8 has a global score of 83.3, which is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's 74.4 overall score. Both of these phones use Android OS, but Xiaomi Mi 8 has the previous 10 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat. Xiaomi Mi 8's construction is just a bit lighter and just a little bit thinner than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, even when both were only released with a couple of months difference.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has a little faster CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has more RAM.
