Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has a global score of 80.3, which is slightly better than Galaxy A5 (2017)'s global score of 75.8. Even though the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is notably newer than Galaxy A5 (2017), it's a bit thicker and heavier.
