Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, getting a score of 93.3 against 80.3. The Xperia 1 III is a just a little bit heavier device than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, but they are equally thin. Xperia 1 III features a sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, because it has a little larger screen, a much higher screen density and a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution.
Xperia 1 III has just a little better processing power than Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a greater amount of RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Sony Xperia 1 III, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor capturing less light and duller colors and a smaller aperture which is not nice for shooting pictures or video in low-light situations, and they both have the same video definition and the same 120 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 also counts with a way more mega pixels back-facing camera.
Xperia 1 III counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, because it has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory. The Xperia 1 III counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, because it has a 13 percent greater battery capacity.
