Samsung Galaxy A42 has a score of 87, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T's 75.6 general score. The Samsung Galaxy A42 body has the same thickness than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, but it's just a bit lighter. Both phones in this review use Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy A42 has the older 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T has a much better display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1080 x 2340 and a way greater pixel count per inch in the screen. Galaxy A42 features a little bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy A42 also has a greater amount of RAM.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T has a bit better camera than Galaxy A42. They have the same video frame rate, a F1.8 aperture, the same 3840x2160 video quality and a back camera with a 48 MP resolution. Galaxy A42 counts with much more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, because it has more internal storage capacity and a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 1000 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 features improved battery performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, because it has a 25% bigger battery size.
